Balaji Bearings is a prominent supplier and manufacturer of axial cylinder roller bearings that specialise in offering bearing solutions to high thrust load cases. Being a reputable distributor, we have customers in Sri Lanka, South Africa, the UAE, Nigeria, Egypt, Indonesia, Thailand, and Kuwait. The quality of our oversized roller bearings is unique. They are cylindrical, axial rollers designed to support huge axial loads whilst offering high stiffness and precision in rotary applications.
Applications of Axial Cylindrical Roller Bearings
- Industrial Gearboxes: These are applied in heavy-duty gearboxes, especially in the input or output shaft of reduction gears. They are used to adjust the large axial force produced by helical and bevel gears, and to align and transmit power.
- Vertical Lathes: These bearings are utilised in large vertical machine tools where the weight of the machine table and the workpiece (the axial downward force) is significant and where excellent rotational precision of the machine is required as it is being machined.
- Oil Drilling Swivels: essential elements of the offshore and onshore drilling rigs, oil drilling swivels carry the full weight of the rotating drill string (a pure, massive axial load) used in the drilling process.
- Screw-Down Mechanisms: This controls the roll gap in heavy-duty rolling mills. They must resist the high axial forces needed to keep the high pressure on the rolls.
Features of Axial Cylindrical Roller Bearings
Very Large Axial Load Capacity: Its main characteristic is the application of big and solid cylindrical rollers. The roller contacts the raceways in a line manner to enable the bearing to carry the maximum thrust loads among roller bearings of similar sizes.
High Axial Stiffness (Rigidity): The rollers are many and are precisely directed, giving a bearing arrangement with very high stiffness, which is vital in reducing the harmony of axial deflection and the precise position of the shaft under heavy load.
Low Axial Cross-Section: The bearings are relatively thin in the axial direction (low axial cross-section); although they have a considerable load capacity because they are massive.
Separable Components: Bearings comprise a shaft washer, a housing washer and a roller and cage combination. The separable design is more straightforward to mount. It allows the use of washers as raceways to be mounted directly on the machine's components, provided they can be hardened and ground.
