Essential uses of Self-aligning Ball Bearings

  • Agricultural Machinery: In harvesters and tractors, the frame can bend and turn when in action, thus leading to misalignment of the shafts. This movement is countered by self-aligning ball bearings that ensure efficient transmission and drive parts performance.
  • Long Shafts and Conveyor Systems: Conveyor belts and rollers can lateralize under pressure. These bearings inhibit untimely failure, enabling the shaft to be run without hiccups despite the bending.
  • Ventilation and Air Handling Units (AHUs):These bearings are reserved in large industrial fans and blowers, but their tolerances are much broader than those of the high-speed bearings to deal with initial misalignment during installation and the slight flex of the high-speed bearings.

  • Moderate Radial Load Capacity: Although aligned, they provide a reasonable balance in radial load capacity, which applies to many general industrial machinery usage.
  • Quiet Operation This spherical raceway, in combination with the intrinsic capability to eliminate edge loading (which contributes to noise), generally makes such bearings quieter in operation than others in the case of minor misalignment.
