Balaji Bearings is one of the biggest suppliers and manufacturers of CR Seals, and it also offers high-performance sealing solutions to rotating equipment. We are a well-known distributor of CR Seals, and our clients are based in Sri Lanka, South Africa, the UAE, Nigeria, Egypt, Indonesia, Thailand, and Kuwait. The wide variety of CR (Chicago Rawhide, currently SKF Sealing Solutions) seals is designed to achieve high levels of critical exclusion of contamination and retention of lubricants in harsh industrial and automotive operational conditions.

Key Applications of CR Seals

  • Automotive Drivetrains: play a vital role in sealing wheels, hubs, axles and transmissions in automobiles and trucks. They seal the break out of oil and safeguard the drive train parts against water, other dirt, and road complications.
  • Industrial Gearboxes: These are applied to the input shaft and output according to the gear reduction units. They are vital in holding lubricating oil and filtering out such environmental pollutants as dust and moisture, which are vital to the long life of the bearings and gears.
  • Pumps and Motors: These are used on the rotating shaft of industry pumps, electric motors, and hydraulic systems. They are made to resist high-speed rotation and pressure differentials to hold fluid integrity.
  • Heavy Machinery: These can be used on agricultural and construction machinery (tractors, excavators, and so on). These seals are usually hardened to withstand extreme mud, dirt and exposure to corrosive field conditions.
Characteristics of CR Seals
  • Superior Sealing Lip Design: The first is optimising the lip geometry, forming a dynamic sealing contact with the shaft. This design reduces friction and offers an outstanding protective barrier against fluid leakage.
  • Strong Housing and Case: CR seals generally have a metal casing (or built-in rubber OD), which is rigid and free of external leakage by a secure, rigid fit with the housing bore.
  • Hydrodynamic Features: Through hydrodynamic aids on the air side of the lip are added to many CR seals (e.g. helix patterns). These characteristics actively force any small leakage to the oil side, which is effective in sealing.
  • Material Versatility: They come in many materials: Nitrile (NBR), Fluoroelastomer (FKM/Viton) and PTFE; therefore, they can be chemically resistant to specific lubricants and withstand integrity within a broad temperature range.
