Balaji Bearings is a major Four-Point Contact Bearing producer and supplier of special bearings that suit the purpose with high rigidity and can carry a combination of loads. We are a qualified Four-Point Contact Bearing supplier to customers in Sri Lanka, South Africa, the UAE, Nigeria, Egypt, Indonesia, Thailand, and Kuwait. Our bearings are also designed to maintain high axial loads in either direction to ensure they are suited to systems requiring high accuracy and stability within a small form.

Applications of Four-Point Contact Bearings

  • Industrial Gearboxes: The bearings must contain the massive thrust produced by helical or bevel gears. Their capacity to accommodate both axial load directions makes the shaft set-up simpler.
  • Machine Tool Spindles: In high-precision CNC machines, four-point contact bearings are used in the spindle assembly. They provide the required axial rigour and aid in embracing precision when cutting activities.
  • Horizontal Pumps and Compressors: These bearings are fundamental in handling the forces of the axes of pumps and compressors, which are caused by the rotor and impellers. They provide a small size equivalent to that of two angular contact bearings.
  • Rolling Mill Screw-Down Mechanisms: During a metallic process, they are applied in the mechanism with the roll gap adjustment. They must deal with the heavy, two-way forces needed to steady the pressure in the rolling-up process.

Characteristics of Four-Point Contact Bearings

  • Bidirectional Axial Load Capacity: The main characteristic is the four contacts between the balls and the split inner/outer ring raceway, enabling the bearing to effectively sustain the high axial (thrust) loads in both directions.
  • High-Speed Capability: The design is also optimised to rotate under high-speed conditions, although it is loaded with a heavy weight. The one-piece brass cage maintains low friction and heat generation, which allows high performance.
  • Space and Weight Saving: A unitary four-point contact bearing will replace two angular contact ball bearings installed with a back-to-back or face-to-face configuration, saving tremendous axial space and lessening the product's total weight.
  • Separable Design: This is characterised by splitting the inner ring into two. This detachable design makes the mounting easier, particularly where the bearing must be preloaded or inserted into complex machine units.
