Flexible roller bearings have rollers which are not solid but are spirally wound from spring steel strips and machined to a cylindrical profile. This makes the rollers 'flexible' and suitable for application where shock or impact loading is frequent. The invention relates to a flexible bearing assembly method based on full-ball design. The flexible bearing assembly method based on the full-ball design is characterized in that when an inner ring and an outer ring of a commonly designed non-full-ball flexible bearing is heated. A flexible bearing is horizontally placed between an upper herringbone mould which can move up and down and a lower fixed cylindrical mould until the outer side of the upper end of the outer ring is tightly attached to the lower end of the herringbone mould and the inner side of the upper end of the inner ring is tightly attached to the upper end of the cylindrical mould, the herringbone mould continues to be extruded from top to bottom to enable the flexible bearing to generate elastic deformation, at the moment, the inner ring and the outer ring, at the upper left end and the upper right end, of the flexible bearing are open, steel balls are filled in the open position one after the other until the position is full, and the bearing assembly process is completed.

Flexible Roller Bearing

Key Applications of Flexible Roller Bearings

  • Mining Equipment: Used in crushers and conveyors, providing compensation for shaft deflection and misalignment in dynamic environments.
  • Paper and Pulp Mills: Handle heavy radial loads and shaft deflection in high-speed rollers and dryers for continuous paper processing.
  • Wind Turbines: Support main shafts and gearboxes, adapting to load variations and misalignments caused by wind forces and flexure.
  • Steel Mills: Operate in rolling mills under extreme radial forces and thermal contraction while permitting shaft movement without excessive stress.

Characteristics of Flexible Roller Bearings

  • High Misalignment Compensation: Designed to tolerate significant angular misalignment between the shaft and housing, ensuring reliable operation.
  • Exceptional Load Capacity: Engineered with line-contact rollers, allowing them to sustain massive radial loads for heavy-duty applications.
  • Reduced Friction and Heat: Optimised geometry minimises friction, reduces heat generation, and promotes energy efficiency and longer service life.
  • High Durability: Manufactured with robust designs and premium materials to withstand shock, vibration, and harsh operating conditions.
